What are some really good adventure games?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: adventure games

I mean the point and click type, old school type of games, like Sam and Max, Day of the Tentacle, ST TNG A Final Unity, that sort of a gem or a thing.
Played the Simon the Sorcerer Series
My brother just got the King’s Quest Series
I’m playing the Broken Sword Series.

Any recommendations, new or old?

beneath a steel sky is a pretty good one, and it’s available as freeware from the SCUMM website. i think they also have ‘flight of the amazon queen’ on there which is along the lines of monkey island in terms of humour.

you should also try out some of the newer sherlock holmes games, i think the last one i played was called ‘the case of the pearl earring’ (but i might be a little off on the title) – they’re in 3d a lot like grim fandango and the later broken sowrd titles.

also.. if you have a nintendo DS, definitely look into ‘another code: trace memory’ (although the title of this game can alter depending on the country you’re from) as well as ‘hotel dusk: room 215′, ’secret files: tunguska’, and the phoenix wright series. happy clicking!

    1. indigo prophecy: it’s really great, good plot just like a movie.
    2. syberia: nice psychological plot, good story, nice graphic
    3. agatha christie series, i don’t really like them…

My opinion: indigo prophecy is a must-try-out one
but syberia is what u r searching for

I’m assuming you’ve done the Monkey Island series as well. You didn’t mention it, but I can’t imagine you’re not at least aware of it. Grim Fandango too.

Of the others, Lure of the Temptress was pretty good. Innocent Until Caught wasn’t bad either, that’s worth a play. Of a slightly different ilk, Sierra did a few good ones, Rise of the Dragon being my personal favourite. They’re very different in style and setup to the classic Lucasarts, but still worth the time.

This is a good site to find older adventure games, they’re almost all free and are legal to download (it’s an abandonware and shareware site).

You can play them using DOSBox.
