games for pc
It will be my first time to play on PC with games after years with sony’s playstation. As you know, its easier to pick games for the ps3 as every ps3 cd works on every ps3 console. But after a bit of reaseach about pc games, I found that every game have different "minimum system requirements". I will have a pretty decent latest gaming PC soon with upto date system, would that allow me to play all PC games in the market?
Just check the requirements on the back of the game box and make sure your pc exceeds them! If you have a good windows experience rating (my computer > right cluck > properties) for your graphics card and processor with more than 4GB of RAM, you should be fine with most games

i had bought a new pc last month…….2gb ram i2………….1 gb nvidia 210 graphic card…….so what are the best games currently available dat i can play on the pc with these req. ?
That is a pretty good graphic card. Most of the modern games will run although you may not be able to run them in very high settings. You haven’t mentioned your processor but I’ll assume it is Core 2 duo or higher.
You can try, Call of Duty MW series, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Assassin’s Creed Series, Bulletstorm, Mafia II, Dragon Age I and II, Mass effect I and II. These are some good games which don’t look all that bad in just normal or high settings. It might lag a bit on max settings. There are games you can try to stretch your computer’s ablities to its limits like Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2, Supreme Commander 2, The Witcher 2.
Its a nice system, enjoy your gaming.

I’m getting Battlefield 3 and I have seen the specs and it’s a good pc, so any game suggestions will be great.
Thanks
Thanks for all the replies
Skyrim, Dues Ex: Human revolution, Minecraft, The Penumbra series (Great, great, GREAT games, highly recommended.:) ) Amnesia the dark descent, Just Cause 2, Dirt 3, Alice Madness returns, Fifa 12 (if you have a console controller.) COD 4 -Oldie but a goldie. Splinter Cell conviction. Civilization 5, the list goes on!
You should download steam http://store.steampowered.com/ and have a look through the massive list of games, maybe wait for one of their ridiculous sales too, especially when Christmas is coming! Hope this list will help

This 75k includes monitor, cpu and keyboard also. The assembled pc should be able to run all games for the next 3 years at least. It would be of great help to me. And i’m planning to assemble it next month.
Good

I’m trying to optimize my computer for sound positioning in gaming. Do pc games output audio that is meant to be listened to with headphones, or is headphone virtualization software (like Dolby Headphone) necessary?
Chris, there are too many variables at play here for a definitive answer. However, I wouldn’t assume that you can’t get spatial orientation/sound positioning in a game from a stereo source (i.e headphones). I would say the size of the headphone "sound stage" is probably the most important feature to look for. The tendency of headphones to sound like the noise is coming from inside your head makes for poor orientation. It’s a common complaint and something that’s either inherent in how the headphone’s made (ie. a closed back can or IEM’s) or on purpose by the manufacturer to make it sound like you are at a concert.
What you should be looking for is an "open-back" can that is relatively neutral or perhaps even slightly bass emphasized (if you want some umphh in your explosions and gun fire). The downside is the open-back cans will leak sound and for those who feel this is unacceptable, this is where gaming headphones with simulated surround come in to play.
My first choice would be an open back headphone, but if you can’t have a lot of sound leakage, then the gaming headphone niche is the route to go as it does an acceptable job at spatial orientation. I actually prefer some of the simulated surround models vs. the ones with true surround sound (i.e. multiple speakers in the ear cup, like some of the Turtle Beach models). if you want a few suggestions, I could throw some your way otherwise… I’ll quit ranting, GL optimizing your gaming sound set-up.

I have a gaming PC and was wanting to find some games that will work with the "Controller for Windows." My favorite games are inFamous and Prototype, and I also enjoyed Dragon Age Origins. I was planning on getting Dragon Age 2 but unfortunately it does not work with the controller.
What are the best games that DO have support for the "Controller for Windows"?
All games released under the Games for Windows label are required to be fully compatible with the Xbox 360 controller if it has any controller support at all. Like: Serious Sam-3, Retro Grade, They etc etc.
