What is it that makes pc games different to consoles?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: games for pc

lets take an example, the company DICE has announced that for their next game, pc players will be able to play up to 64 players online but for consoles it will only be up to about 24, why is that?

Taking your example into account, each player being online adds power resources from the hardware to be used, such as creating the texture, its animation when the player moves, and so on. Adding more and more players would make the hardware having hard time to handle all the power resources which will turn make it have lag and its frame per seconds decrease substantially.

In contrast, we can’t tell in PCs the power resources of each user. Some can be very high , more high than a simple console, and others can be very low. To attract audience for people who have PCs with high power resources, they will include up to 64 players, as to increase sales.

In consoles, all consoles power resources are equal, so there is no point to increase it over 24, that is the limit or peak that they found where it does not have any substantial lag. There is no way to customize a console so we don’t want to experiment the user to try more than 24 to experience bad quality game experience with low fps.

Is this a good pc for playing games like fallout 3 and new vegas?

Here is the pc and the specs. I’m just not good at stuff like this so i would like to know if this pc is good for games like fallout 3 and new vegas. I have about £500-600 budget and would like to know alternatives if there are any.

You could always just ask someone to pick out parts for you, and bring it to a computer shop to be built.

You can either go with an Intel (preferably i5 1156 socket) build, or you can go with an AMD (II X4) build. Intel processors are clearly better, but AMD is better if you would rather get a better video card and spend less money on the processor; more budget friendly. Both are good.

Since the Intel Sandy Bridge motherboards have a chipset problem and are being fixed, you should go with AMD right now. If you’d rather get Intel, then I’d wait for a bit.

Since Yo Yo Tech had better prices: Just to go the site, and go to PC Systems > Custom PC, choose the AMD for CPU, and add those items to your cart. The build will be able to play most modern games with the exception of highly demanding games like Crysis/Metro 2033 on highest settings. Also, the motherboard is Crossfire ready. That means you can put two AMD/ATI cards in it for more power. If you want to upgrade your graphics card, just add another 6850 in there. Also overclock the graphics card!

can i get a good gaming pc for 1500$?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: games for pc

so if i spend 1500$ for gaming pc what games would i be able to play at max settings with 50-60 fps and what windows is best for gaming
im buying a new pc not upgrades

i have been to aarons before, and they have nothing you would want.
and like the other guy said newegg can be a good place, always read the reviews.
i would get none less than radeon hd 5000 series (directx11),
would go with the cheap i7 (the good one is 1000$) or i heard theres an amd almost as good for alot cheaper.
if you get a motherboard with usb 3 it will be a good board, since usb just came out not long ago.
and for the hard drive, depends on what you need. probably 32 or 64mb cache would be good.
always read the reviews.

What are some good games for PC ?

I need some good First person shooter and third person shooter games for pc with the best graphics……..Help me please!!
I have already ended all the games of Call Of Duty series, also have ended these games Medal of Honor,All games in series of Prince of Persia and mafia 2
please i need some more……….help me please!!
I want you to know that i have a good gaming pc…..
i havent played fallout game series and bioshock game series…..how are they?

There’s lots of good games, your best bet would be to wait for the next year so you can get the 2010 games cheaper. But if you need a good FPS game, then I would recommend Alliance of Valiant Arms it’s a free FPS game, it’s like Counter Strike but online, but the graphics are amazing if you have the computer to run it then maxing the graphics seems like play playing COD modern warfare 2.

Expensive Gaming PC or Stuff for Xbox 360?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: games for pc

I was wondering: Should I get an expensive new PC for gaming, or just buy a nice HDTV and a bunch of games for Xbox 360?

I’ve always wanted to get into PC gaming, but it’s really expensive and I already have an Xbox 360.

What would you do?

It depends. First, I don’t know if you’re going to be playing multiplayer games, and second, I don’t know what kind of games you like to play, but I’ll try to cover it all. Console gaming is just so much different from PC gaming, and all of it boils down to personal preference. Of course with PC you have a lot more customization. You can download mods and special maps and such. Xbox dominates in the first-person shooter field, however. Multiplayer is great and it’ll allow you to connect with friends and such.

If you play multiplayer games, you’re going to want to make sure you have a good internet connection, especially with PC gaming. Half of the Battlefield 2 games I join end up kicking me because my ping is too high. That being said, multiplayer strategy games like AoE, Starcraft 2, DotA, etc. are exclusively PC, so if you really like stuff like that, that should make your decision easy.

If you’ve never tried PC gaming before, you should definitely try it out before you commit to it. However, it is very fun and if all you play is single player games, I suggest going the PC route. There will be a wider spectrum of games available for you. If you already know and enjoy the Xbox side of things, stick with it. If you’re like me, and just like all games, then all I can say is try both of them and see which one you like best. With my old, bad computer, I downloaded Halo Trial for the PC and played around with that, as well as a few other games, like Freelancer, IL-2 Sturmovik, etc. While it was fun, the constant bad connections bothered me, and I just ultimately felt that I liked using a controller better than a mouse.

As a minor note, you might also want to compare how much you use the computer on a regular basis as compared to how often you watch TV.

If you do decide to go the PC route, don’t do something dumb like buying an alienware. Those things are insanely overpriced. If you really want to save money and get an awesome PC, spend a little time researching what you want and build your own PC. It’ll be hundreds of dollars cheaper for an incredibly good system. And though I’ve never done it, all I’ve been told is that setting everything up is very easy. And if you doubt that, you can always just call someone to help you set it up.

Hope this helps.

My left analog stick for my pc gamepad won’t work for most games?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: games for pc

Everything works except for the right analog. Two games it will work for but all the rest are compatible for a controller but still it won’t work. I pirate games but I don’t think that has anything to do with it cause the ones it does work with are also pirated. Even the games that are pre programed for a controller still won’t work. The driver program for the controller is logitech profiler. Any advice would help thanks.

Is there a configuration application with that logitech driver? Is it a logitech pad?

If there’s a calibration program, open it up and see how it numbers the axes and buttons. Some games will automatically assume the axes are 0,1,2,3. Maybe they are numbered differently on that one.

If it doesn’t say, see if it saves the calibration, then enable hidden file viewing and track down the configuration file. It should be recorded there what the axes are.

Then the games themselves, even the ones that are pad-compatible might just be meant to work with one stick, not two. A lot of shooters do this, because pc shooter fans will still sneer at you if you don’t aim with the mouse. They will let you move with the left stick, but the aiming remains excusively with the mouse. If there are look keys though, you could use a keypress emulator to get around that. That is a utility that translates the right stick movement into customized keyboard events.

It has nothing to do with the games being pirated.

Try downloading a flightsim called Targetware. It’s free cause it’s in beta. It is extremely gamepad compatible and might give some clues to how the other games look at your gamepad, cause it has its own calibration utility.

Since it works with a couple of games, it’s not broken. Just a compatibility issue.

If you can open the configuration files for the games, you may be able to manually edit the axis and button bindings. In fact, you should be able to do so on any respectable game. I had to do this with quake 2 when I installed it on my ps3.
