Downloading computer games from the disk to my hard drive?
say i buy command and conquer or age of empires or some other computer game. if i want to play the game, i need to insert the game disk into the disk drive so it’ll load and i can play. would i be able to take the game and download it to my hard drive so i would no longer need the disk in order to play it? essentially, is there a way to save the entire game to my hard drive so all i have to do is double click on an icon and have the entire game load even though i dont have the disk in the disk drive?
Yes, there is a way. You can convert the cd content into an *.iso, *.daa, *.bin or any other image extension (*.iso is I believe most used) you can do that using PowerISO tool, or any other tool such as Nero, MagicISO etc., but to me PowerISO is the best iso handling program.
-Then when you have your *.iso image right click on poweriso in system tray and click set number of drives (if you have one cd put number of drives 1, and by the way you can also install games with more cd’s from your computer this way, just putting the number of cd-s and associating iso file to each)
-When you set the drive, your computer will recognize it as a cd-rom drive. Again click on the poweriso in sys tray and click "mount image to drive" then choose your iso image.
-Once you do that the data from that iso will act as it is a cd in your cd-rom drive and you should be able to play your game without a cd.

You can alternatively download a crack, but it is less secure because you can download a virus what is very often to be found on cracking and serial sites, and cracks does not exist for all game while this works for both original and copied.

In order to play that game, the disc will automatically ‘load’ or install the game onto your hard drive. Most games made after 2000 have to be installed in order to be used. Different games use different security devices however, and sometimes you will be able to play the game without having to insert a disk into your computer. This is to make sure you have a legitimate copy of the game and you haven’t downloaded it illegally. If the game does include a security measure like having to insert the disc, then you can just download a ‘No-CD’ crack, which basically bypasses the security on the disc. Googling ‘Nocd age of empires 3′ will find you a crack for Age of Empires III, etc.
