What games should I buy for PC?

I’m quite excited at the thought of PC gaming as I have not done it for several years. Recently I sold my consoles and gathered the money to buy quite a nice custom-built gaming PC. I’ve always been into shooters/rpg and action adventure. What are some really fun pc games that I should buy?
The orange box is a really good game. I started making a mod with it (extra level that users will be able to download later for free).
