how do i decrease my ping for online computer games?

hi I have CoD4 online and guess what my ping is.999. i want to get it down because its pissing me off. know its like playing it is like a waste of time now. anyone know how to decrease the ping? if u do please reply to this question.

Get a better computer
if you think you have a good computer get a better one,
get cable internet
if you have cable internet find a server that’s located closer to you
when you search for games sort via ping then go down the list till you find one with people in it

stop downloading porn while playing games, reduce graphics of games get a faster comp or faster internet.
