What computer should buy to play the latest PC games ?

Hello, I would like to buy a Desktop with the best graphics card and a lt of memory, at least 3GB ram, in order to play the new video games that are now available on PC : Far cry 2, Fallout 3, GTA4 ( soon^^), Warcraft and so on..
It’s actually two part question… Is it possible to have a good Desktop these days for $500..?

No, you cannot get a "good" desktop for $500 these days.

Holden, did you just tell someone to get a Mac for a gaming desktop? To play PC Games? Really?
I don’t really know much about Desktop prices these days, but I know you can get a really good gaming computer for relatively cheap if you build it yourself. Pre-packaged ones will cost more, but you could probably get a decent one for $500-ish.
