What is the the difference about these two Sims 2 PC games?
These games both are the Sims 2 on PC. But one of them is single disc, and the other one has four discs. I remember playing on my cousin’s four-disc one a couple of years ago, and I remember it was really advanced. I would like to buy the four-disc one now for myself. But is it any better than the single-disc one?
Sims2 (the original game) came on 4 CD disks
Sims2 Deluxe (or Double Deluxe) each come on 1 DVD disk
Sims2 Deluxe has a complete version of Sims2, plus the Nightlife expansion
Sims2 Double Deluxe is Sims2, Nightlife and Celebration Stuff
The reason the newer games have several titles on 1 disk, and the original needed 4 disks, is that DVDs hold about 10 times the information that a CD does.
If you have a DVD-rom drive on your computer, get Sims2 Deluxe. It should be the same price as Sims2, but you get an expansion pack with it. Sims2 Double Deluxe has much higher graphics requirements because of the Celebration Stuff, so many people, especially people with laptops, have trouble with it.

I had the four disc one that I bought as soon as the Sims 2 came out but now I have the one with 1 disc and there is no difference in them. I think it is because they developed the Sims 2 into just one disc as they advanced it.

There is no difference really. The one with the four discs would be the same as the one with just a single disc. They have recently released a version of The Sims 2 with just one disc, to minimize space, and it takes less time to install also. All of The Sims 2 expansions have also undergone this transition to just a single disc. I hope that answers your question.

Oh yes. The four-disk one is the full game. The single-disked is just an introduction to the game

I got the Sims 2 Double Deluxe. It’s a really great deal. The sims 2 base game, the Sims 2 Nightlife and the Sims 2 Celebration Stuff all for $20.00. It was all one disc. Not including the bonus disc.

If you really wanted to make a good investment on the Sims 2 game, though, I’d try to buy Sims 2 Deluxe. It has everything the original sims has, plus comes with an already installed Night Life Expansion Pack. I just got it for $4.99 (Plus about 5 bucks for S&H) and it works incrediably. Same cheats and everything.

the one with the four discs is the Sims 2 Base game on CD-ROM
the one with the one disc is the Sims 2 Base game on DVD-ROM
the four disc one isn’t better the only difference is the DVD-ROM one you obviously need to be able to play DVD’s on your PC and DVD-ROMs can store more information on the disc that is why there is only one disc. One is not more advanced than the other besides how much information can be stored on one disc.
